We were ready to import the Chinese vaccine a long time ago, but this was followed by criticism. Such a statement made Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Director General of the Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center.
“Georgia was ready to import the Chinese vaccine a long time ago, but do you remember what the reaction was? Exactly the same TV channels, opposition groups, some doctors, do you remember how they were outraged and categorically said that Georgia would not allow the introduction of the Chinese vaccine under any circumstances. We want the best quality vaccine and so on.
The country leadership listened to them and did not introduce the Chinese vaccine. We are waiting for internationally recognized American-European vaccines. Most of our neighbors and many countries in the world started vaccinating with the Chinese vaccine, and now people blame us. This double standard is unacceptable”, - said Tengiz Tsertsvadze.
