Parliamentary work on electoral reform is underway. According to Shalva Papuashvili, the Georgian Dream, the legislative package to be registered today.
“The only issue of the memorandum signed between the ruling party and the party Citizens, which remains open at this stage, concerns the election threshold.
The working group will continue to work on the reform. We still have about 2 months of work ahead of us before Parliament passes the bill in the 3-rd reading.
We will continue to refine the project with the working group, as well as discuss the details of the introduction of electronic technologies. Besides, the project will be sent to the Venice Commission and the ODIHR for a joint report.
We once again call on the parties that refuse to participate in the parliamentary work to put aside personal and party interests, use this opportunity, enter the Parliament and do not miss the process of implementing this very important reform for Georgia”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
